Matt Mandel, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, to Depart WIA

ARLINGTON, Va. – After nearly eight years of service to the association and a solid record of policy achievements, Matt Mandel, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, will be leaving the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) effective today.

“Matt has been an incredible asset to WIA and to the entire wireless industry,” said WIA President and CEO Patrick Halley. “Matt was responsible for engineering several important wins for the wireless infrastructure industry and strengthening WIA’s advocacy at the national, state, and local levels. Not just a strong advocate, Matt is a person who operates with humility and a sense of humor and is a great colleague.”

“It was a privilege supporting the mission of this organization for the past eight years,” said Matt Mandel. “I will miss working with my extraordinary colleagues at WIA. It was an honor to work with such a dedicated, talented, and passionate group. Thank you to the WIA Board of Directors for their support and guidance of our advocacy efforts. During my time at the association, WIA has become an advocacy powerhouse with tremendous success in Congress, at the FCC, and in state capitals across the country. I’m proud to have been part of that success.”

While growing WIA’s presence and influence under Mandel’s leadership, WIA was an active player in policy debates in Washington and in state capitals across the country. The efforts resulted in a series of policy achievements, including major reforms to the wireless infrastructure permitting and siting process to accelerate 5G deployment, ensuring that wireless technology was included in the landmark federal Infrastructure Act and raising the profile on the importance of workforce development initiatives.
