John Gifft currently works as a senior attorney with John Deere. In this role, he advises Deere’s Intelligent Solutions Group on hardware, embedded software, and connectivity issues; and advises the company’s aviation team on issues involving unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or drones). Prior to joining Deere, Mr. Gifft was a Senior Counsel at the Department of Commerce, focusing on telecommunications, supply chain risk, technology, space commerce, and cybersecurity. In prior roles at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), at a satellite company, and at an avionics company, he advised on a variety of technology related issues, including wireless spectrum management, broadband policy, hardware licensing/certifications, and public safety. Mr. Gifft is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and the George Washington University Law School.
