Job Description

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) serves as National Sponsor of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship program (TIRAP). Powered by WIA and with partners across the country, TIRAP provides on-the-job training resources, support, and access to incentive funding for our members and other telecommunications companies.

TIRAP was the first and remains the largest multi-employer Registered Apprenticeship national program, and WIA commands the front lines of innovation for apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and customized training for the industry.

The Project Manager of Apprenticeship will be responsible for supporting WIA’s role as National Sponsor and Industry Intermediary. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and systems to track and monitor grant/contract goal attainment.
  • Analyze data and develop reports, as well as responding to and meeting grant/contract reporting requirements.
  • Organize and drive the recruitment of participating employers.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to registered employers; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Promote the role of apprenticeship by appearing before employers, workforce and community groups, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to current apprenticeship sponsors.
  • Recruit businesses and organizations who have existing RAPs to expand those programs.
  • Assist in managing outreach and relationships with employer and industry partners.
  • Assist in managing relationships with educational partner organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with workforce development system partners.
  • Maintain program system resources such as RAPIDS, Salesforce, and HubSpot.
  • Develop and submit reporting per grant/contract requirements.
  • Build toolkits and other resources for participating employers.
  • Attend events, speaks at events and evangelizes the public about the value of apprenticeships.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of a marketing campaign to promote the initiative.
  • Additional programmatic/financial/administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of management/leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience with project management tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A critical thinker who is resourceful and quick to problem solve.
  • Experience with project management (federal grant and contract management is a plus).
  • Understanding of apprenticeships, workplace learning programs, and future of work concepts.
