WIA to Host Wireless Workforce & Supplier Diversity Summit

ARLINGTON, VA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) will host the Workforce & Supplier Diversity Summit as part of the Connect (X): All Access digital event series, May 18-19, 2021, from 9 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET. Sessions will focus on how dedicated training programs and apprenticeships can be leveraged to build a comprehensive workforce development strategy for your organization.

Diverse suppliers will have an opportunity to participate in 1:1 matchmaking sessions with procurement officers from major wireless companies during the Summit.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania Wireless Association and WIA through its Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) will also host an in-depth session on how to grow and retain your telecom workforce.

“The Workforce and Supplier Diversity Summit comes at a pivotal time when companies of all sizes are facing an urgent workforce skills gap that needs to be bridged,” said WIA Executive Vice President Tim House. “The Summit will offer numerous sessions to address workforce challenges and to implement solutions, particularly through the time-tested model of registered apprenticeship. Increasing diversity in the wireless supply chain is crucial to the industry’s success, which is why WIA is committed to providing opportunities for engagement with underrepresented audiences through this Summit and through its accessible training and education.”
