WIA – WIA is pleased to announce that our Executive Vice President, Tim House, has been appointed to the FCC’s Telecommunications Interagency Working Group by Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel. The Working Group, created by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and comprised of representatives appointed by the FCC, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, and the Department of Education, is tasked with preparing a report to provide Congress with recommendations on how to address the workforce needs of the telecommunications industry by no later than January 14, 2023. The Verge – AT&T, Dish, and T-Mobile dropped billions of dollars in a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) auction to acquire more 5G spectrum licenses in the midrange 3.45GHz to 3.55GHz band. While AT&T was the biggest spender at $9 billion, Dish spent $7.3 billion, and T-Mobile followed behind at $2.9 billion. Read More

Fierce Wireless – Dish Network is making its spectrum available to enterprises for private wireless deployments through a partnership with integrator WCI Technologies. The companies said they are targeting enterprise customers in the oil and gas, health care, and mining industries. Read More

Mobile World Live – Verizon and AT&T stated they would proceed with activation of 5G sites operating in C-Band spectrum, but moved to allay aviation industry fears by delaying the switch on near some airports. The operators plan to light C-Band 5G services in 46 metropolitan areas. Read More
