FAA, wireless carriers hash out problems with C-band, altimeters

Fierce Wireless -Talks between wireless carriers and the Federal Aviation Administration are continuing as efforts to replace old altimeters are underway. FAA met with telecom and airline industry officials this week in a push to retrofit and ultimately replace some airplane radio altimeters. Read More

Dish inks $1B+ deal with Samsung for 5G radios

Light Reading – Samsung Electronics will provide 5G network equipment to Dish Network, the companies said this week, describing their agreement as a “multi-year contract valued at over $1 billion.” Read More


FirstNet board approves investment to improve in-building coverage

MissionCritical Communications – During its quarterly meeting, the FirstNet Authority approved reinvestment into the FirstNet network that will help improve indoor coverage for first responders. Read More

Daily Jefferson County Union – U.S. Cellular has been cleared to install a new 70-foot cell tower adjacent to a water tower on the north side of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Read More
