Inside Towers – Permitting reform is an evolving process, and attorneys who represent the wireless industry are hoping this evolution will accelerate in the industry’s direction during President Trump’s second term. The recent Executive Order on using technology to make environmental permitting processes more efficient was encouraging to many, including attorney David Bronston of Phillips Lytle. Bronston, who recently moderated a permitting panel at The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA)’s Connect (X), noted that the President’s order used some of the same adjectives WIA has used to describe ideal permitting processes: transparent and predictable. Broadband Breakfast – The Commerce Department said it would release a new funding notice for the $42.5 billion broadband program funded under the bipartisan infrastructure law passed nearly four years ago. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick promised that BEAD funding would be released “by the end of this year.” Read More

Inside Towers – An influential presence and long-time entrepreneur in the telecommunications tower business, Clark Madigan passed away unexpectedly in mid-April. Madigan co-founded TeleCom Towers, LLC., which owned 400 towers and managed roughly 2,000 other antenna sites. Read More
