Inside Towers – New tower construction in the U.S. remained active throughout 2024, from January through early December. A total of 1,833 new towers were built during the year. The chart shows the number of towers that are registered in the Inside Towers Database as ‘constructed’ over that period. Crown Castle – Crown Castle CEO Steven Moskowitz said the company has concluded its strategic review of its fiber segment and agreed to sell its small cells and fiber solutions business for $8.5 billion. Read More

Light Reading – T-Mobile has filed documents with the FCC to swap some spectrum with Verizon, mainly in Kentucky, and separately it is looking to exchange a significant amount of spectrum with AT&T in hundreds of locations all over the country. Read More

Government Technology – Federal Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program Director Evan Feinman has announced his departure from the role, following word recently that it will undergo a review. Feinman has served as the program’s director for three years. Read More
