Fierce Network – It’s been a bit of a busy week for Verizon. Just days after announcing a surprise CEO transition, the operator is doubling down on fixed wireless access (FWA) growth by acquiring Starry for an undisclosed sum. The operator said it will leverage Starry’s millimeter wave technology and market presence to bring high-speed internet to more multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and urban communities. Read More |

Verizon – Verizon Communications Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Independent Lead Director and former Chief Executive Officer of PayPal Holdings Inc. Dan Schulman as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mark Bertolini has been elected Chairman of the Verizon Board of Directors. Mr. Vestberg will serve as Special Advisor through October 4, 2026, during which time he will be focused on ensuring a smooth transition including the integration with Frontier Communications. Yahoo Finance -American Tower’s AMT subsidiary, Coresite, recently announced that it is building a new data center called DE3, at 4900 Race Street in Denver. This data center is expected to be ready in 2026. The DE3 data center will have 180,000 square feet of space and will expand the digital infrastructure serving the Denver metro area. Read More

Inside Towers – London-based infrastructure investment firm Ancala announced it has acquired a nationwide portfolio of 300 telecom towers in Ireland from Phoenix Tower International (PTI). PTI’s divestment was mandated by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission in connection to its acquisition of Cellnex Telecom’s business in Ireland, which completed in February 2025. Light Reading – FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty raised alarm about a growing problem of network vandalism and called on Congress, the industry, law enforcement and the public to play a role in solving it. Trusty spoke of the “growing epidemic” in remarks at a Telecom Industry Summit held in El Segundo, CA, on managing and prosecuting copper theft. The Telecom Industry Summit is backed by WIA and other associations. Read More
