The champion will be a country that ushers in an era of unmatched productivity and economic growth and leads global advances in national security. For the Trump Administration, winning on AI is “a national security imperative.” And it’s a bipartisan goal. “No technology offers more promise to our modern world than artificial intelligence,” according to Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer. FCC – By Brendan Carr, Chairman – In the two months since I announced the Build America Agenda, we’ve already made significant progress on this front. We’ve advanced plans to accelerate the upgrade from old copper line networks to modern ones, to ease access to utility poles, and to revamp the FCC’s approach to environmental reviews. Building on this progress, we will kick off our September meeting with two proposals to reform permitting rules and accelerate both wireline and wireless infrastructure builds. Read More

Inside Towers – SBA Communications CFO Mark DeRussy said carriers are progressing at different speeds in 5G rollouts. T-Mobile is largely complete, Verizon is about 70 percent finished, and AT&T is near 50 percent. DeRussy noted tower amendment application volume has risen for six straight quarters, with more than half of SBA’s revenue now from colocation, and he confirmed full-year guidance remains unchanged at $37 million for the second half. Fierce Network – According to Verizon Consumer Group CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath, the U.S. needs to lead in 6G – no excuses. The industry is just now in the midst of a years-long journey to develop 6G technical specifications. Sampath acknowledged as much during a keynote. RCR Wireless News – Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said the company expects to spend at least $600 billion on U.S. data centers and related infrastructure by 2028. The figure aligns with Meta’s previous guidance, which projected capital expenditures of $66–72 billion for 2025 — up nearly 70% from 2024. Read More
