WIA – WIA CEO Patrick Halley is testifying before the the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology in a hearing titled, “Examining Solutions to Expedite Broadband Permitting.” The hearing will consider 29 bills on improving broadband and wireless permitting. Halley’s testimony will focus on WIA member priorities including codifying the FCC’s permitting orders, improving deployment on federal lands, and ensuring predictable, proportionate, and transparent permitting processes on all levels of government. Inside Towers – NTIA is making progress on identifying federal spectrum that can be auctioned for commercial use, according to NTIA Administrator Arielle Roth. President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” restored the FCC’s auction authority, and the legislation directs NTIA to identify 500 MHz of federal spectrum, to be auctioned and reallocated for full-power commercial licensed use.
