WIA – As satellite direct-to-device (D2D) services gain momentum through new partnerships, investments, and technology developments, two new analyst reports conclude that while satellite connectivity can play an important role in extending service to remote, rural, and disaster-affected areas, it is not a replacement for the terrestrial wireless infrastructure that powers modern mobile networks. Inside Towers – U.S. tower change of ownership transactions remained active through the first half of 2026, comparable with activity through the first half of 2025, according to the Inside Towers Database. In 2025, the database shows a total of 2,447 Change of Ownership transactions. Read More

NTIA – The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) at the Department of Commerce announced it is making up to $53 million available to accelerate the development, testing, and commercialization, of secure, American-led AI‑enabled Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture. Shaw Local – The Lockport Planning and Zoning Commission in Illinois is giving a tentative recommendation for a new cell tower to be constructed on Lockport Township High School District 205 property near Rotary Park, but it is not yet known when the proposal will go before the Lockport City Council for final approval.
