May 14, 2014 Adelstein Applauds Colorado Wireless Bill May 14, 2014/Alexandria, VA – PCIA President & CEO Jonathan Adelstein released the following statement regarding the passage of Colorado House Bill 1327: “PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association applauds Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and the Colorado General Assembly for enacting House Bill 1327, the Broadband Deployment Act, which will encourage and streamline wireless broadband deployment throughout the state. The Act creates tax incentives to expand broadband availability in Colorado’s rural areas, bringing the benefits of broadband to more of Colorado’s citizens. It crafts a technology-neutral definition and simplifies the application process for small wireless deployments, such as Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and small cells, which are minimally impactful and often leverage existing infrastructure to increase capacity in high-traffic areas. It sets timelines for application processes to ensure predictability of investment and reduce delays. Overall, this legislation is a boon for Colorado’s citizens and its economy and will promote better coverage, increased public safety, and upgraded broadband capacity.” WIA Press Releases
