Edge AI Infrastructure Initiative

WIA’s Edge AI Infrastructure Initiative (EAI) brings together organizations from a cross section of the infrastructure industry–from silicon to hardware, services and towers–to promote the importance of edge AI infrastructure deployment and identify steps to accelerate its implementation.

Wireless networks are supporting and advancing AI and automation across industries–from healthcare to manufacturing, transportation, public services and agriculture. With the growth of these ecosystems comes the demand for intensive compute resources closer to the end device and end user.

Edge infrastructure brings AI computing closer to users by combining hardware, software, and networking at the edge of the network. Processing data locally–rather than transmitting it to distant data centers–reduces delays and supports responsive, real‑time AI applications.

Informed by leading industry stakeholders, EAI will provide actionable insights to advance the physical deployment of edge AI infrastructure, supporting next‑generation AI applications and services for enterprises and consumers as the industry moves toward 6G and beyond.
