CEO Adelstein Commends Passage of Georgia BILD Act

April 22, 2014/Alexandria, VA – Jonathan Adelstein, President & CEO of PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association, released the following statement regarding the passage of Georgia House Bill 176:

“PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association commends Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and the Georgia General Assembly for their efforts to promote wireless broadband expansion by enacting House Bill 176, the Mobile Broadband Infrastructure Leads to Development (BILD) Act. The BILD Act will expand broadband availability in Georgia. It will help providers meet the growing demand for wireless data, ensuring Georgia’s consumers, businesses, and public safety agencies can access vital wireless broadband services wherever they are, whenever they need it.

“Georgia follows a number of states who have also recognized the importance of wireless broadband and facilitated wireless siting—especially for collocations, which leverage existing infrastructure to promote cost-saving. By clarifying the application process, limiting application costs, and setting timelines to ensure predictability of investment, the legislation eliminates costly delays to wireless deployment, paving the way for Georgia’s citizens to enjoy better coverage, enhanced public safety, and increased broadband capacity.”
