PCIA: Ohio PUC Order Will Help Speed Broadband Deployment

July 30, 2014 / Alexandria, VA – PCIA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association released the following statement hailing the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio’s order that provides established timelines for make-ready, harmonizes the reasons for attachment denial with those within the Federal Communications Commission’s 2011 Pole Attachment Order, protects pole-top attachments, and aligns attachment rates with those of the federal cable attachment rate.

“PCIA is pleased that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has ruled in favor of economic development and technological innovation in its pole attachment order. Today’s action will help bring leading-edge wireless broadband services to Ohioans across the state and build a network capable of transmitting next-generation technology. PCIA encourages swift approval by the Ohio legislature so that these rules can be effectuated as soon as practicable.”
