Reflecting on 2025: Advancing Connectivity Nationwide

By Patrick Halley, President and CEO, WIA

As we reflect on 2025, on behalf of the incredible industry that WIA has the privilege to represent, I am proud to share WIA’s remarkable achievements and the collective progress we have made together in advancing connectivity everywhere, across the nation.

With the support of our members, WIA achieved major legislative victories in 2025, while shaping key federal regulatory platforms at the FCC and NTIA to advance wireless deployment and technology neutrality. On Capitol Hill, WIA’s advocacy helped reinstate the FCC’s spectrum auction authority and advance permitting reform, positioning wireless infrastructure as essential for AI and 6G innovation. And we continued to advance important legislation at the state level, while preventing bad ideas from taking root.

The association also strengthened industry leadership through:

  • Connect (X) 2025 and our many member-driven initiatives;
  • Expansion of workforce development, awarding over 1,900 certificates via our Telecommunications Education Center;
  • Growth of the broadband workforce nationwide through our Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP) which now has 113 participating companies; and
  • Launch of a new training program in partnership with the Texas Broadband Office.

We are pleased to present the WIA 2025 Year in Review, which outlines these accomplishments.
