WIA Applauds House Passage of Legislation to Streamline Broadband Permitting on Federal Lands

ARLINGTON, VA – The Wireless Infrastructure Association released a statement on House passage of H.R. 1681, the Expediting Federal Broadband Deployment Reviews Act and H.R. 1343, the Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act on Monday

The following statement can be attributed to Mike Saperstein, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Chief Strategy Officer, WIA:

“WIA applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing bipartisan legislation that takes meaningful steps to modernize and streamline the federal permitting process for broadband deployment on federally managed lands. Streamlining federal reviews is critical to closing the digital divide and ensuring taxpayers see a return on historic federal broadband investments. WIA strongly supports these commonsense permitting reforms and urges the Senate to advance this legislation without delay. We look forward to continuing our work with Congress to ensure America’s broadband infrastructure can be built efficiently, responsibly, and at the speed today’s communities demand.
