Statement from WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein on the Accessible, Affordable Internet for All Act:
“WIA commends Rep. Clyburn and Sen. Klobuchar for their dedication to providing broadband to all Americans. As the pandemic has demonstrated, connectivity is more important than ever,” said WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein. “This bill invests significant resources in addressing the digital divide. It will encourage collocation to the degree it is implemented to fund operating expenses as well as capital expenses, which will maximize total investment. It will spur major job creation, which will require more workforce training, including apprenticeships, to meet the increased demand for broadband build-out. We look forward to working with Rep. Clyburn and Sen. Klobuchar on closing the digital divide and developing the next generation wireless workforce.”
