WIA Commends Passage of Spectrum Coordination Act and Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act

ARLINGTON, Va. – Please attribute the following statement to WIA Senior Vice President, Government and Public Affairs, Matt Mandel.

“WIA applauds the U.S. House of Representatives approval of H.R. 2501, the Spectrum Coordination Act, and H.R. 1218, and the Data Mapping to Save Moms’ Lives Act. H.R. 2501 calls for a long overdue update to our country’s spectrum strategy. With the deployment of 5G and future generations, it is crucial that government agencies coordinate closely so we can continue to lead the world in wireless innovation. I applaud Rep. Gus Bilirakis for his leadership on this important bill. I would also like to thank Reps. G.K. Butterfield, Lisa Blunt-Rochester, and Bilirakis for their leadership on H.R. 1218, which will require the FCC to incorporate maternal mortality and health outcome data into its broadband mapping platform. This data can be used to promote better health outcomes for mothers and children.”
