WIA Comments on House Subcommittee Hearing: Sound Regulation Key to Future of Wireless Infrastructure

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of WIA, regarding the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology’s hearing titled “Facilitating the 21st Century Wireless Economy.”

“We commend Chairman Blackburn and the Subcommittee for their ongoing efforts to have Congress play a strong role in facilitating the widespread deployment of wireless infrastructure. The nation’s wireless infrastructure provides the foundation upon which the wireless industry will deliver 5G, the Internet of Things and the jobs that will fuel the U.S. economy for years to come. Our nation’s wireless economy requires sound regulations and policy at the local, state, and federal levels. This Subcommittee has taken leadership in striving to lower many of the barriers to wireless broadband deployment.  WIA looks forward to working with Congress and the FCC as they seek to clear current roadblocks that increase costs and slow the rollout of mobile networks.”
