WIA Praises FCC for Moving Forward with Largest Spectrum Auction to Date to Speed 5G Deployment

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) commends Chairman Pai and the Federal Communications Commission for beginning the process for the largest spectrum auction to date. The spectrum that will be auctioned includes portions of the 37 GHz, 39 GHz, and 47 GHz bands, which will help speed 5G deployment.

“WIA is pleased that the FCC is making these bands available through the largest spectrum auction to date, which will speed the deployment of 5G technologies. This step is just what the United States needs to lead the world in 5G,” said WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein. “These bands are vital for intensive data uses, which will put the U.S. another step closer to winning the global race to 5G.  We thank the Chairman Pai and the other FCC Commissioners for their support.”
