WIA Selects Deb Bennett as New Vice President of Apprenticeship

ARLINGTON, Va. The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) today announced that Deb Bennett has been hired as the new Vice President of Apprenticeship for WIA’s growing Workforce Solutions group. In this role, Deb will continue her work with the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP), which she has supported as a contractor with WIA since 2016.

WIA is the National Sponsor of TIRAP, a competency-based apprenticeship program aimed at growing the productivity and safety of the telecommunications workforce. TIRAP offers 15 U.S. Department of Labor recognized occupations that are critical to the deployment of broadband and boasts 79 employer partners.  

“We’re delighted to have Deb join WIA to further oversee TIRAP and support our other workforce initiatives,” said WIA EVP Tim House. “She has been an invaluable member of the TIRAP team and has worked tirelessly to build the program into the nationally recognized resource for telecommunications apprenticeships it is today. I look forward to continuing to work with her on expanding Registered Apprenticeship to make sure America has a workforce capable of meeting the broadband deployment needs of today and tomorrow.”
