WIA Statement on David Redl Confirmation Hearing

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of WIA, regarding the testimony delivered by David Redl, the nominee to head the National Telecommunications & Information Administration, before the Senate Commerce Committee on June 8.

“David Redl has established himself as a skillful expert on multiple telecommunications issues including those facing the wireless infrastructure industry. His ability to understand the entire wireless ecosystem and the specific role infrastructure plays in providing widespread access to mobile broadband service is crucial. As Mr. Redl pointed out in his testimony, there is a growing demand for more wireless network capacity as we connect more and more people and mobile devices to each other. The responsible and efficient deployment of wireless infrastructure allows wireless service providers to keep up with that demand today and prepare for increased demands in coming years. WIA applauds the Commerce Committee for its diligent work to ensure the National Telecommunications & Information Administration has the best possible leader at the helm. We look forward to Mr. Redl’s confirmation.”
