WIA Supports the Next Generation Telecommunications Act

ARLINGTON, Va. – WIA supports the passage of S.3014 in the Senate to establish the Next Generation Telecommunications Council. This bipartisan legislation, introduced by Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), John Thune (R-S.D.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), will put the United States on the path to continue to lead the world in deploying next-generation broadband technology.

“WIA strongly supports the Next Generation Telecommunications Act,” said WIA Senior Vice President, Government and Public Affairs Matt Mandel. “There is no better way to ensure the U.S. remains the global leader in deploying future broadband networks, including 6G, than for Congress to work with experts in the industry to develop a national strategy in advance. I commend the bipartisan leadership and collective foresight of Senators Cortez Masto, Thune, Wicker, and Schumer in introducing this legislation.”
