Back then, I joined a local operator to build a Fixed Wireless Access Network for residential clients. I started as an RF engineer and since it still was a very small company I had the chance to learn RF design for microwave and cellular. Building a greenfield network brings big challenges, everything was new and we had to adapt quickly. We had to find locations to build sites, find the right partnerships with vendors and work to keep the team focused and united, specially during the difficult times. Our great achievement was that after 4 years of intense work, we grew from one market with 16 sites to five markets and over 150 sites offering high speed internet and VoIP services. This experience is very meaningful to me because I discovered a passion in RF engineering and I had the chance to work with amazing and inspiring people that were in the wireless industry long before me.
