5G Does Not Cause Coronavirus

WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein: “There is zero scientific evidence behind the conspiracy theory that there is a link between coronavirus and 5G.”

“There is zero scientific evidence behind the conspiracy theory that there is a link between coronavirus and 5G. It is the height of irresponsibility to even suggest that such a misleading link exists. The public needs to rely on scientific evidence rather than on unfounded fearmongering. Leading global health authorities have found no health risks that wireless facilities meeting regulatory guidelines pose to the public. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. There are enormous well-documented public health and safety benefits of wireless, which saves lives and protects people in emergencies every day through calls to 911, telemedicine, and so many other ways. 5G will greatly enhance these life-saving benefits, such as converting an ambulance into a rolling 3-D emergency room, equipping firefighters with virtual precision blueprints to enter burning buildings, and developing new applications of the future which we can’t even imagine today. Consider how many people today are calling their doctors through voice and video calls to determine if they need to go to the hospital. During this global health emergency, it is more important than ever to build next-generation wireless networks so that more remote healthcare can be available as soon as possible for those in need.”

World Health Organization: “5G mobile networks DO NOT spread COVID-19. Viruses cannot travel on radio waves/mobile networks. COVID-19 is spreading in many countries that do not have 5G mobile networks.”

FEMA: “5G technology does NOT cause coronavirus.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases: Theories that 5G is causing COVID-19 are “thoroughly preposterous, untrue, and actually ridiculous. [laughs] Sorry. It’s a pretty simple answer. 5G doesn’t have any impact on the immune system. A lot of things do, but not that.”

Simon Clarke, cellular microbiology professor: “The idea that Covid-19 is caused by 5G mobile phone signals is complete rubbish.”

CNN: “There is no evidence linking 5G technology and the spread of coronavirus.”

World Health Organization: “There is no convincing scientific evidence that the weak RF signals from base stations and wireless networks cause adverse health effects.”

Associated Press: “Officials in Europe and the U.S. are watching the situation closely and pushing back, concerned that attacks will undermine vital telecommunications links at a time they’re most needed to deal with the pandemic.”

American Cancer Society: “At this time, there is very little evidence to support this idea” that cell towers increase the risk of cancer or other health problems.

AV Club: Dr. Anthony Fauci has called stories linking 5G to coronavirus “garbage.”

The Hill: “Damage or sabotage of the structures is of particular concern during the pandemic, as keeping phone lines, internet and other forms of communication open is vital. One of the British towers targeted supplies voice and data traffic to a field hospital in Birmingham, England, where coronavirus patients are treated.”

Independent: 5G is in no way related to the coronavirus.

CNN: “The social media giant [Twitter] said the new policies add to existing bans on unverified claims that risk creating ‘widespread panic, social unrest, or large-scale disorder.

In recent weeks, the internet has been awash in false claims suggesting that 5G, the ultra-fast wireless technology, is responsible for the spread of the coronavirus.

Technologists and researchers have said there is no connection between the two, and that attempts to sabotage communications networks threaten to put more lives at risk.”
