Jul 27, 2022 WIA Commends House Passage of Spectrum Innovation Act ARLINGTON, Va. – The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) today commended the U.S. House of Representative for passing the Spectrum Innovation Act (H.R. 7624), which makes additional frequencies in the 3.1-3.45 gigahertz band available for non-federal or shared use and extends the authority of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to auction off additional airwaves for commercial use. “I commend the House for prioritizing America’s leadership in wireless network innovation by voting to make more spectrum available for commercial and shared use,” said WIA Senior Vice President, Government and Public Affairs Matt Mandel. “Spectrum is the lifeblood of mobile communication and ensuring the availability of more spectrum will spur network advancements and benefit consumers. I thank Chairman Mike Doyle and Ranking Member Bob Latta for their leadership on this important bill, and I encourage the Senate to follow suit.” About WIA: The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) represents the businesses that build, develop, own, and operate the nation’s wireless infrastructure.
